This isn't Goodbye...It's merely the beginning

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"-Dr Seuss

For most of us desert folk, seeing the ocean and being on a boat on the ocean isn't a usual experience; thankfully most of us can now say it's happened at least once in our lives. We greatly enjoyed the breeze in our hair and the incredible view of Venice from the vast and glorious sea. Once on Venetian land, we were yet again amazed by the endless character Italy has to offer. Between the glass and the attractive men who sold the glass, the sounds of pure enjoyment could be heard throughout the choir. Lunch was completely satisfying, although once again many plates could be seen with veal still fully intact. Dessert was decadent, creamy, and curious and was complemented by the somewhat flat yet charming clarinetist.
After another satisfying boat ride, we were back on the main land and ready to sing...kind of. Once in gear and some barefoot, we were ready for our final endeavour as the current amazing choir we are. We were ready to say ciao to Italy, and sadly, a emotional goodbye to our fellow senior sisters. The concert was heartfelt, and although it was full of tears and goodbyes, it was a perfect ending to an eventful year.
Now we're back in the hotel and just finished our final goodbyes as a full choir; all are ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives, yet had a difficult time finishing up the past chapter. Thus, we are left with only a bittersweet feeling of sorrowful goodbyes and hopeful futures. It won't be an easy task to fill the shoes of the departing choir members, yet we plan on doing the best to make sure the choir continues to touch the hearts of many while maintaining our extraordinary reputation. We now realize that this isn't a goodbye but rather a beginning of a new journey.
Love to all,

The Trio in 603

Hey, its the Trio here: Natalie, Georgia, and Lauren!:)
The ice-cream here in Italy is so deliciously amazing!! It was from Gelateria. And i got the fragola, crema, banana, and also menta. And that is basically the only thing I eat for lunch now everyday. And i'm satified!!:D
*Natalie*
I love the shopping! Yesterday we were in Florence, buying tons of leather! The barganing people did was so amazing! Abby got a purse for 100 Euros less than the original price, and people bought purses and amazing leather jackets! I bought a purse and a finely woven sterling silver scarf. They're magnificent! Today, we went to Verona, and I wrote a letter to Juliet. Let's all hope for true love! =)
=^.^= Georgia
OMG!!! I can't believe it: the three of us were just now blogging and as Natalie sat down and out of the seat cushion fell six euros! Whoa I'm still recovering from the sweet surprise. But anyway back to my article, today I'm going to write about the performing we have been doing in this incredible country. Since the second our feet touched Italy it has been a crazy journey. Who would have guessed that we be performing in amazing churches and cathederals such as St. Peter's Basilica? The acoustics in each performance center are unbelievable! But even more unbelievable are the people we are performing for. They are all from different countries all over the world. At our last performance some young men from California heard us and told us they were in a choir way back home! This trip has been an wonderful adventure and I look forward to the last few days we have here.

From Florence to Verona and now in Venice

Yesterday, we went on a walk around Florence, on the way we stop at the museum to see the statue of David (yes, the original). We went shopping for about five hours and the girls were very excited. Today we checked out of our hotel in Florence and stop in Verona on our way to Venice. We went to Arena Verona and sang there. We also went to see Juliet's house and shop in Verona.
We are currently in Venice. This hotel is very nice and there's a lot of mosquitos ready to attack us when we walk out. Three more days till we come back home and our last concert tomorrow. It's very exciting to perform in Italy. People who don't even know us come and listen to us and take pictures. In our last concert, all the seats were taken. We are all very pleased with this tour and missing home.

thank you for following,
Mariana

Shopping in Florence

Yes, the sight-seeing is incredible and the history of the country is extremely rich, but what did all of our jaws drop and eyes pop at hearing? Only one word: Shopping!!!
Today is Sunday, the day of rest and enjoyment. Ignore the part of rest, we skipped right onto the enjoyment! Shopping in Italy is any girls dream, and we lived it. Bargaining was a blast at exercising our assertive side and a sense of accomplishment and authority could be felt once handing in the cash for the well-fought for item. Some of the girls got $90 items for $50! I had a fantastic time and I would like to thank all of the parents and chaperones for their patience! Until next time! -Lauren

Saturday Concert an incredible success

"I've heard choirs throughout Europe and each summer in Florence for many years, and this is the best American choir I have ever heard" - Mario Rossi, Retired Professor of Acoustics, Ecole Polytechnique Federale, Lausanne.

The Young Ladies Choir Europe Tour: The Young Ladies Choir Europe Tour: The Young Ladi...

Young Ladies Choir with James Caviezel

Young Ladies Choir performing at the Vatican

The Young Ladies Choir Europe Tour: The Young Ladies Choir Europe Tour: The Young Ladi...: "The Young Ladies Choir Europe Tour: The Young Ladies Choir Europe Tour: 'Welcome, In this blog we will put daily updates about our trip to Europe..."

Today is the day that we will remeber for the rest of our lives! We cried, we laughed, we sweat, and everything inbetween.
When we walked on to the Vatican floor, my heart went from 5 miles an hour to full mode! My mind was blown. The Vatican, is so beautiful. More beautiful than anything I have ever seen. And once the chorus finally went up into the choir loft, it was the beginning of a new view on everything. I cried. I cried with pure happiness. So many thoughts were running through my head. How proud my family is of me, how I'm part of something greater than just a choir... more a family of sisters.
As we were leaving the Vatican, with a great deal pride, and the moment passed, we saw him. Yes, we ended up seeing and meeting Jesus, (James Caviezel - from the Passion of Christ, Count of Monte Christo, Angel Eyes with Jennifer Lopez, etc.
Laughter, tears, and all, this is one moment that we will charish forever. From the tears of overwhelming emotions to laughs about " hugging Jesus."
Today is " The best day of my life!"
